1. Apply for the School Choice Lottery. The lottery runs for one month. It does not matter when during this month you apply. Applying earlier than later will not affect lottery results and vice versa.
2. Register per instructions provided by Enrollment and Transfer / in Parentvue after applying for the lottery.
3. Refer to the Richmond school website for announcements about Connect to Kindergarten and other new student events.
Helpful general enrollment FAQs can be found here. .
Please email Kirstin, School Administrative Assistant at kbill@pps.net with questions or concerns.
Enrollment for Grades 1-5
New as of 2024, families with students entering into grades 1 through 5 will also apply through the lottery. If space in the program is identified, partner language learners must pass a language proficiency assessment demonstrating that they are on grade level in reading, writing, speaking and listening in the partner language. In our case, the partner language is Japanese. Assessments for Late Entry are conducted in June, as well as right before school starts.
Take a Virtual Tour of Richmond!
This simple was provided by another one of our amazing Family Volunteer Collaborators, parent Thomas Hayden. The project was inspired by conversations with Kindergarten families who hadn't been inside the school due to the COVID pandemic. We are so grateful to Thomas and all of the members of our community who found creative ways to bring us together in challenging times!
The 360° images allow the user to look around and zoom in. It will work on a desktop, laptop, mobile device, or virtual reality headset (via the VR button for Google Cardboard or via the browser for Oculus). The four squares at the bottom of the image will open a carousel which will lead to all the other images. The images are ordered from KG to 5G with some common areas throughout. We wanted to share over Fall Break, so we’re sending asap, but the site may still actually be loading. So, check back in a little while if it’s not quite there yet.
