    Benefits

Academic Preparation: Students completing Biotech's rigorous program of study finish high school with four credits in math through Precalculus or Calculus and five credits in science including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and a capstone class in senior year which will include taking courses at PCC. The Biotech Program course completion not only meets but exceeds the state's graduation requirements in math and science as well as the requirements to be considered a CTE pathway completer. For athletes, the Biotech curriculum meets the NCAA eligibility requirements.

College Credit: Jefferson High School - Middle College for Advanced Studies is located across the street from PCC Cascade Campus. Through a partnership between the school district and 欧美巨乳色情片 Community College, Jefferson's Middle College students begin earning college credit in their junior year of high school for free. The Middle College enhances the challenging and engaging experience of Biotech. Some course options at PCC that complement the Biotech curriculum include MP 111 Medical Terminology, MP 140 Health Law & Ethics, BI 101 Intro to Biology, BI 212 Cell Biology for Health Occupations, CH 150 General Chemistry, HE 242 Stress & Human Health, Math 111/112 or 251/252.

Partnerships: The academic program is further enriched by a continuum of career exploration activities provided by community and business partners including Oregon Health & Sciences University/On Track OHSU! Program, Providence Health System, Legacy Health System, Kaiser Permanente, and more. Through these important connections, students are introduced to professionals in a variety of health, science, and biotechnology careers. At the beginning of the program, students participate in site visits and other career-sampling activities. Mentoring sessions are provided with students from OHSU.
